Formals are the bane of your existence, if you are an office woman. What to pair with what, what accessories and what shoes is a constant battle. The struggle is real, ladies! How exactly to make your work outfit look stylish and chic without trying too hard!
We at Knick Knack Nook have for you tips to spice up that office get up, and earn some brownie points in the style quotient. Follow us on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Snapchat, to get daily updates on our latest range of accessories.
Presenting to you five looks for those five working days-
Beat the Monday Blues
Let’s not get too feisty on a Monday morning! Keep the look simple, and minimal. A dark summer blazer with lighter pants in the same palette (cool toned or warm toned), is our suggestion, to pair with a Crew-neck white T-shirt or a white button-down.
Don’t be afraid to ditch the button-downs, if you are uncomfortable. There are various semi-formal styles that work as well.
For accessories, again keep it simple and classy. Our Class Act Collection will cater to all your needs in this department. Choose a piece that goes with the color palette of your choice, there is no dearth of choices at Knick Knack Nook. Finish the look with chunky kitten heels in black or a nude basic colour. Add a complimentary office bag and you are ready.
Make a statement
Command the attention on Tuesday and take control. Ditch the tailored trousers for wide-legged culottes, a boat necked top to compliment, paired with strappy heels in a basic nude or black.
Put emphasis on making a statement- a wrist watch or a cuffed bracelet; tasseled yet classy black earrings with a unique cut, and a delicate looking neck piece, will complete the look.
All the accessories can be shopped at www.knickknacknook.in.
Ethnic is my jam
The mid-week has struck ladies, and you need to keep on your toes to maintain your style. Right in the middle of the week, hit them with Indian formals and knock the mid-week crisis away.
Our Wednesday outfit is nothing but comfort meeting style and creating a perfect blend. Pair a cotton or crepe Nehru Collar kurti, preferably in a light colour for the summer weather, with straight tailored skinny pants. Add in wedge heels for a comfortable gait.
For accessories, go all out. Long dangling earrings, a nose ring from Knick Knack Nook’s clip-on nose ring range, a detailed gold or silver bracelet, for example Snowflake from our collection, a statement ring or even a choker to go with the Nehru Collar. Serve the much needed change in your workplace by spicing it up with some ethnic touches, like maybe a bindi.
What’s my size?
So, what if the shirt is two sizes too big? We’ll make it work.
Pair an over-sized shirt with your usual trousers. Clinch the shirt at your waist with a belt to make it work-place appropriate. If you are not into over-sized clothing or belts, ditch them to choose Peplum tops or cuts to suit your body type.
Keep the accessories bold yet subtle to blend in the look completely. Knick Knack Nook suggests a browse through our Class Act collection to take your pick on elegant yet timeless pieces, perfectly cut and set to suit a formal setting or a classic cocktail party.
Thank GOD! It’s Fri-yay
Friday is finally upon us ladies! And we cannot help be grateful. Tight clothes in summer feel like an absolute death-trap, so we ditched the pencil skirt. For this look we decided to channel some old school glamour, by making a pleated and flowy midi skirt the base of our look.
We have paired it with a button-down with an open neck and short-collar. If you happen to be on the shorter side, wear wedges or heels to rock the look, but of course, comfort is priority, so strappy flats work just as well.
Accessories, girl, will make or break this look. Some vintage pieces from our Vntage Avenue Collection is our pick for this look. Knick Knack Nook has a ton of timeless, elegant pieces that you will absolutely love. Add in a watch, and you are ready to welcome the weekend, the minute that clock hits 5!
